Parking & Traffic

Where you can park, where you can't, and how traffic works on launch day.

7 tips ยท From our Where to Watch a Launch guide ยท Reviewed October 25, 2026

  • Most public parking in Brevard is free and first come, first served. Cocoa Beach and Indialantic have paid public parking with signs showing how to pay12.
  • Cocoa Beach city parking is $6 an hour (one-hour minimum) or $25 for the day, paid through the Passport Parking app (plus a 35-cent app fee) and enforced 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, including weekends and holidays10.
  • Don't park at a business to get to the beach: you will be towed12.
  • Parking on highway shoulders and causeways is dangerous and prohibited14. NASA's advice: don't pull off alongside the road1.
  • For Artemis II, Titusville planned to close all lanes of the A. Max Brewer Bridge to cars for about an hour after liftoff so people could cross on foot safely. For big launches, watch the city's and police department's social media14.
  • Follow directions from police and security, and watch for wildlife and traffic getting in and out of your car1.
  • Boaters: launch hazard areas and restrictions are at (800) 470-7232, and the Coast Guard broadcasts them on marine channel 161.
