Defense weighs plea in federal case against Titusville teen in cruise ship death; trial delayed to January
A court filing says the teen's lawyers are considering a plea deal, but no agreement has been announced.
Lawyers for a Titusville teenager accused of killing his 18-year-old stepsister, Anna Kepner, aboard the Carnival Horizon in November 2025 are considering a plea deal, according to a court filing reported by WFTV. He faces federal charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse.
The filing does not announce a finished agreement, WFTV reported. He has pleaded not guilty, and the judge granted a defense request to move the trial to January. The allegations have not been proven in court.
The Space Coast Wire does not name juveniles accused of crimes. He was initially charged as a juvenile before prosecutors moved to try him as an adult, according to WFTV.
