Eli Morning Brief: Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026

In this Morning Brief: the National Weather Service in Melbourne has extended Brevard's Coastal Flood Warning until 2 a.m. Friday, with significant coastal flooding expected and coastal roads that may be closed. NWS says Monday morning's preliminary crest at the Trident Pier tide gauge at Port Canaveral was 3.02 feet above mean higher high water, the highest non-tropical water level observed since 1994. A Wind Advisory for all of Brevard runs until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with gusts up to 40 mph. Breaking waves of 7 to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents mean staying out of the surf, Satellite Beach's beach crossovers were still closed Monday evening because of erosion (first reported by WFTV), and the lagoon sales-tax renewal is on the Nov. 3 ballot, one week from today.
